Over a month after making officialthe Zenfone 2 Deluxe and Zenfone 2 Laser smartphones, Asus has launched the affordable Zenfone Go smartphone in India. The device has been the subject of some rumors and leaks in the recent months.
- Asus Zenfone Go appeared on the official Asus India website and Flipkart last month. Today the company has launched the smartphone in the country. The Zenfone Go packs a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 SoC and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It has dual SIM support, but it has only 3G connectivity and lacks 4G LTE.
- In the end though, Xposed framework for Android 5.0 was not only faster than its KitKat version, but also retained compatibility with existing modules. While the official release of Xposed framework is not compatible with Android 5.1, an XDA member was able to create a version that worked with the latest release of Lollipop.
Specs-wise, the handset is powered by a MediaTek MT6580 SoC with quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, and sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display. It comes with 2GB RAM and 8GB expandable internal memory, and packs in a 2,070mAh battery.
Google has unveiled the next version of its smartphone operating system, Android 5.0 Lollipop.It will come pre-installed with Motorola Nexus 6, HTC Nexus 9, and the Asus Nexus Player. You just need to wait for the right time. In an official statement from Asus, they will provide Lollipop update to all variants of Zenfone (4,5,6).
In terms of camera, the Zenfone Go features an 8MP rear unit and a 2MP front shooter. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/A-GPS, while color options include black, white, and red.
On the software front, it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Zen UI and comes bundled with 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years. Priced at INR 7,999 ($120), the smartphone will be available for purchase through Flipkart and the Taiwanese company's offline retail stores.

'Low Battery 2000 mAh Only...... :P' 'Enough for a 5 incher with quad core processor.' That's maybe true, but with 145mm height on an 5 inch display, this phone could at least have had 3000mAh battery!
